If it smells like phish, delete it.

Beware of e-mails from the IRS claiming that they need you to update your information in order to process your return. A new phishing scheme is going around.

The official word from the Internal Revenue Service is that they will not try to contact you via e-mail. Therefore, if you get an e-mail from the IRS, its a fraud.

Of course, as a rule of thumb, you should never go to any of your online accounts by clicking on links in an e-mail. Its a risky practice. These things generally are just a scam. But I've seen the e-mails and they do look pretty impressive, and I've known a few less than technically savvy people who have given away their Paypal account information as a result.

Just a friendly reminder--geek safely!

Someone has answered my prayers

Leave it to the guys over at thinkgeek.com to come up with the greatest thing since Jolt Cola. Its a dream come true for us non-morning people.

Do you know how many times I've been lying in bed in the morning, saying to myself, "If only I had an I.V. drip of caffeine, it would be so much easier to get up...". Well, this isn't an I.V. drip but its the next best thing. 150mg of caffeine right into your blood stream!

Good Lord, I wonder if they offer a quantity discount?
