I've been in denial about the acquisition of Robinson's May by Federated Department Stores ever since it happened. I guess I can't deny it any more--the time has come.
This is going to put a huge damper on Leigh's and my shopping excursions. How many times have we gone to Robinson's armed with a 15% off coupon and walked out with an armload of stuff for under $100?
That won't happen at Macy's. A single pair of jeans can cost that--or more. Not to mention, how am I going to feed my shoe addiction?
I don't have a clue where I'll do my shopping now. Probably online. All I know is, I won't be converting to a Macy's shopper. Can I afford to shop there? Sure. Do I want to? Not when I've been buying the same stuff for 25-30% less at Robinson's.
This truly blows.
