Friends in the News

In case you missed it, JR and Leigh made the news.

It seems their white trash neighbors decided to give the culdesac the finger in a big way--by painting the one digit salute on the side of their roof. Obviously, others in the neighborhood were upset. After all, they've put up with a lot from these people over the past several months. The City of Gilbert (yes, the one that happens to be the fastest growing city in the nation) wasn't much help--they claimed this particular gesture didn't violate any specific city ordinances. They said there wasn't anything they could do about it because it bordered on "freedom of speech".

So, who could blame the neighbors for turning to the news media. And interestingly enough, Channel 3 was all over the story, sending a helicopter out to take aerial photos of the house and a news crew to interview the neighborhood.

Naturally, the very first interview they played when the report was broadcast--was JR.

When interviewed, the "lady" of the house claimed no knowledge of the artwork. Of course, its a bit difficult to believe since her claims were made with a smirk on her face.

Its amazing how easily people like this can bring down a perfectly good neighborhood. It sort of makes me glad we moved into a subdivision with an HOA.

I sure hope for JR and Leigh's sake that somehow these people end up having to move. They (and the rest of their neighborhood) just don't deserve it.
