First Elizabeth Smart comes home safely against all odds. Now, missing boyscout Brennan Hawkins has been found alive after being lost in the woods for four days.
Maybe I should think about becoming Mormon.
Seriously, this is wonderful news. Missing child stories seldom have happy endings. It sure is encouraging to hear of ones who come home safe. What an incredible relief for this kid's family.
I don't much care for the arrogant bastards in Scottsdale. They think they're better than everyone else and generally treat people who don't live there like trash.
This is just one more example of why I try to steer clear.
I really enjoy driving around at Christmas time and taking in the displays such as Chris Birkett's. There are a few houses that I've come to discover over the years that I try to visit each year, just to see how they've outdone their past displays. These people have the most incredible holiday spirit, most doing it purely for the enjoyment of children.
All that apparently means nothing to the people in this Snottsdale neighborhood. Not only did they press this issue so hard in the Christmas season that they attracted national attention, but now this man faces up to six months in jail.
Basically, for spreading some Christmas cheer.
Bah humbug, Mr. Scrooge. I hope these rich assholes are pleased with themselves.
The big mystery surrounding the real identify of Six Flag's icon Mr. Six has been solved.

Its clearly Edgar Ray Killen, former KKK member currently on trial for the 1964 murder of three men in Mississippi. I guess the jury will decide whether or not we'll be seeing ol' Mr. Six dancing around the bus for a while.
Okay come on... doesn't anyone else see the resemblance?
An interesting study shows that certain parts of the female brain shut down during orgasm. However, their methods were unable to get consistent results with men.
If you ask me, you don't need to inject a man's brain with dye to figure out the ENTIRE THING shuts down during orgasm.
Michael Jackson has been found not guilty on all counts. I can't say that I'm surprised.
The family of the accuser is nothing more than a bunch of money grubbing golddiggers. They tried to squeeze money out of multiple celebrities--George Lopez, Chris Tucker and Conan O'Brien, to name a few (all of whom testified in this case). The mother committed welfare fraud. They all lied under oath in the past. There was no reason to believe that this situation was any different than the ones in the past and there was no physical evidence.
Don't get me wrong--I think Michael Jackson is a mixed-up individual. No grown man should think its normal and acceptable to sleep with other peoples' children in their bed. Would I leave my kids with him (well, if I had any)? Hell no.
But I also would not have found him guilty based on the testimony of a bunch of known con-artists. That's not how the system is supposed to work.
California prosecuters need to pick their battles more carefully in the future.
...but I like him.
He's got a big soft spot for animals and doesn't put up with people who abuse them. Now he's taking in many of the animals that the Arizona Humane Society can't accommodate due to overcrowded conditions.
I think it could have a positive affect on the inmates volunteering for the program. Animals are very therapeutic.
I have no sympathy for the inmates being housed in tent city. Incarceration isn't supposed to be an enjoyable experience. So what better way to make use of the unoccupied jail than to give these animals another chance to live.
Hey, Mary Rose Wilcox--kiss my animal-loving ass. Do the inmates in this picture look unhappy to you?

I'm not really sure who's dumber here--the driver who left this kid in the van for five hours or the parents for not calling the police sooner.
All I know is, if MY 3 year old was not returned when he should have been, I certainly wouldn't have waited five hours to call the police.
I continue to be amazed at the number of irresponsible adults in a country where so many people want children but can't have them. Its just astonishing.
And very sad.
If you want to kill someone, apparently Utah is the place to do it. Convicted murderer Mark Hacking was sentenced to six years to life for murdering his wife and dumping her body in a landfill.
Six years? Are you kidding me?
Its interesting to note that his sentence was increased because he used a firearm. The mandatory sentence for first degree murder in the state of Utah is five years to life.
They had better have some hard-ass parole boards in Utah. If this guy gets out of prison EVER, it will be a travesty.
For all my jet skiin' friends... I stumbled across this site for the Kawasaki Museum and I thought it was kinda fun.
I found it especially amusing since I still have two of these "vintage" watercraft in my garage. I guarantee you won't find a cleaner, newer looking 650SX anywhere...
Check this out--the ORIGINAL Jet Ski 400!

How serious does this guy look?

Oh man, this is funny stuff... I'm sitting at my office with tears running down my face right now. Even my non-Star Wars loving co-worker enjoyed this one.
Thanks to Carrie for the link!
Futa, the standing red panda, has become big star in Japan. If you ask me, someone is trying to pull a fast one on the citizens of Japan.

I've seen more realistic Photoshop hacks than this...
