Real Insanity

No wonder east valley home prices are skyrocketing.

Ironically, Xan and I just looked at the Saguaro Mountain development by this builder earlier in the week. Its pretty much built out and there certainly isn't anything remaining in the $200,000 price range as the article states.

Good for our property values, but bad if we want to buy something new in the area. There is hardly an affordable home to be found in Mesa anymore.

Ribbit... ribbit... POP!

It seems that the toads in a certain pond in Hamburg, Germany are blowing up like balloons and exploding--and nobody knows why.

I've got my theory.

One happy geek

Leave it to Verizon Wireless to drop the price on the Motorola V710 (their ONLY non-PDA phone with bluetooth) just days after I finally gave up waiting and ordered another phone.

Lucky for me, they have a good exchange policy. I'm just glad the price drop came before my 15 day grace period expired.

I am now able to connect my Pocket PC to my phone via bluetooth and get to the internet at speeds of 144K using only my plan minutes, which I just upped to 1,000. Even better with unlimited nights and weekends, which is primarily when I'd be using it.

Not too shabby. :)

Happiness is...

Being the owner of a brand new, shiny Canon Digital Rebel...

Yeah, I probably should have held out for the Rebel XT, but I couldn't beat the price. And so far, I am anything but disappointed. The image quality is amazing!

I'm so excited!

Nothing is sacred in South Park

Proving once again that there is no such thing as TOO politically incorrect in the minds of Trey Parker and Matt Stone, this week's episode of South Park finds young Kenny in a persistent vegetative state, while friends Stan and Kyle fight against Cartman to determine whether or not to pull his feeding tube.

I'm sure the uber-conservatives of the world would be shocked if they had seen it. But then, how many uber-conservatives watch South Park?

I'm astonished at how quickly they're able to put these episodes together. Hey, I know this isn't sophisticated animation or anything, but to get the scripts written and get the entire episode produced and on the air THAT quickly is simply amazing. And this isn't the first time they've done this. I remember being completely shocked when, four days after Elian Gonzales being seized by the government, they were running an episode of South Park with two little Romanian girls in a situation that was CLEARLY a parallel to Elian, complete with Janet Reno.

I don't watch South Park religiously like I did 6 or 7 years ago (holy crap, its been on THAT long?). But every time I do watch, its STILL funny. I'm not quite sure how they still manage to keep me laughing, but they do. I guess there's just something about a bunch of animated, politically incorrect third graders that I find hysterical.

What can I say? I'm easily amused.
