As of today, Roosevelt Lake sits at 81% capacity. With run-off from snowmelt still to come, it could actually reach 100%.
Fire up the jet skis, people! Lots of new water to ride.
This guy is lucky that all he's facing is a misdemeanor ticket for littering. His utter disregard for those of us who cringe at the sight of a cigarette butt flying out someone's window nearly cost him his life.
Take the survey next to the article--the results are great.
Sounds like one to add to the old book of excuses for embarassing incidents.
I'm not sure who's going to believe it, though.
I'm registered Republican, but I voted for a Democrat, Janet Napolitano for Governor of Arizona in our last election. Part of the reason is that I don't agree with the viewpoint many of the Republican leaders seem to share with regard to illegal immigration. I don't believe in the proposed guest worker program, and in general I think the laws we already have must be enforced.
A big thumbs up goes out to Janet for sending a letter to the newly appointed Attorney General, Alberto Gonzales, demanding that the Federal Government reimburse the State of Arizona for the actual costs incurred by the state taxpayers for the incarceration of illegal immigrants who commit crimes. If the government refuses to pay, she insists that they take custody of these criminals so as not to further burden the State of Arizona with the costs of their incarceration.
Great idea, Janet! Let's go drop them off on Mr. Gonzales' doorstep.
Those of us living in border states are suffering from our government's outright refusal to enforce the immigration laws in this country. Its about time someone did something so simple, yet something they will definitely pay attention to.
In a time when you constantly hear about teenagers getting into trouble with the law, I find it truly sad to read about some crusty old biddy who feels its necessary to sue these two teenage girls who simply wanted to do something nice for their neighbors.
You couldn't resolve this without taking them to court? I'm sure a conversation pointing out that the girls needed to consider all possible consequences of their actions (regardless of how good their intentions were) would have sufficed. Their parents agreed to pay for the medical expenses, after all.
What incentive do kids today have for being neighborly and respectful when someone does something like this? Unbelievable.
Lady, you should be ashamed of yourself.
The Iraqi insurgents have gone too far this time.
They've captured action figure Special Ops Cody!
When G.I. Joe gets wind of this, there will be hell to pay.
His poor girlfriend has issued a plea for his release.
They have stooped too low, this time. Time to pull out the big guns.
I had one of those, "If only I had a camera..." moments at lunch today.
I was walking out to my car after picking up my spicy chicken and broccoli bowl at Shogun Express, when I happened to see a truck who had been victimized by a "dust graffitist" (is that a word?).
This one, however, was much more clever than the typical "Wash Me" that you'll find etched hastily on the back window of a dirty vehicle. In very precise, carefully spaced out letters were the words:
IF ONLY MY WIFE WAS THIS DIRTY.
See? Wouldn't a picture have been much better?
This is the perfect argument for a camera phone...
