Back when I was in junior high school, I remember wanting a particular pair of designer jeans that cost around $40. Then came high school, and Levi's were all the rage. At the time, those could be caught on sale for around $18. Then came Guess jeans, which pushed the $50 envelope.
I understand inflation and all that, but who in their right mind would pay $150 for a pair of jeans? I mean, those don't even look all that special to me.
These days, my jeans of choice are from The Gap. When I can catch them on sale, often I can find them under $30. Full price, in the worst case, is $48. And I don't remember the last time I paid full price for them.
Now, if they made my butt look REALLY small, THEN I might consider buying $150 jeans...
