It looks like WalMart isn't a thorn in the side of just grocery stores anymore. Fierce competition from discount retailers may cause Toys 'R Us to get out of the toy business. They claim there is more money to be made in the baby business, and have separated their Babies 'R Us stores into a separate entity. If things don't turn around, they plan to either sell off or get out of the toy selling business entirely.
It would be a sad day for those of us who grew up with Toys 'R Us. Back then it was the greatest place a kid could ever go (well, except maybe Disneyland). I remember picking out my Big Wheel at Toys 'R Us. And my first bike.
I even had a Toys 'R Us sweatshirt when I was in high school. You know the ones I mean... the ones that said, "I don't wanna grow up, I'm a Toys 'R Us kid."
Aw man, what will happen to Geoffrey?
