Greed

I'm always perplexed when I hear a story of a celebrity who, once rich beyond belief, is now completely broke. Don Johnson is the latest victim of his own frivolity.

Back in the early 80's, there wasn't a bigger star than Don Johnson. Everyone watched Miami Vice. There was even a clothing line named after him, based on his Vice character. As recently as 2001, he starred in Nash Bridges, and while not exactly an Emmy award winning show, it had a decent run.

I just don't get it. How does a person squander millions of dollars in just a few years?

Actually, watching MTV Cribs should explain exactly how this happens. Some of the people featured on that show I would never guess had the kind of wealth that would justify their possessions. I suppose they are probably just so far in debt that they can make the monthly payments just as long as their popularity doesn't die down.

And if it does? That's when you sell the $950,000 ranch in Aspen.

I bet I could squander a million dollars in less than 6 hours. Anyone want to let me try?
