In a continuing effort to relive my younger days, I went to see Van Halen last night at America West Arena.
The boys can still rock.
Sammy hasn't changed much. Sure, he isn't as buff or athletic as he used to be (no swinging from the ceiling this time around), but he's still the same old crazy Sammy, big grin and all.
Michael Anthony still busts out with the bottle of Jack Daniels. He even still has the JD bass (not the one he's playing in the pictures). He really hasn't changed much either.
Alex is looking OLD. He can still bang the drums, though.
Eddie... what can I say? Eddie is still the man. To this day, I don't think there is a better rock guitarist around. How he gets some of those sounds out of a guitar is beyond me. I've never heard anyone else do things like that.
But, um... somebody give Eddie a sandwich, okay?
