You know the deal is questionable when you make the Sports Headlines on the MSN main page...
The Cardinals have been notoriously bad at getting their rookies signed in time for training camp. With the personal ties between Dennis Green and Larry Fitzgerald, I'm surprised this deal took as long as it did.
Getting the Cardinals management to pony up a deal that's potentially worth $60,000,000 couldn't have been an easy feat. This is the most lucrative deal for any rookie in NFL history, pretty surprising when you consider the Cardinals' reputation of being too cheap to get big dollar players. Is this kid worth it? I guess we'll find out soon enough.
One thing is certain, Dennis Green is shaking things up. First he changes his mind about Marcel Shipp and hands over the starting running back position to Emmit, and now he cuts Pete Kendall. Rumor has it Kendall was one of the guys whining about being worked too hard in voluntary mini-camp, and that led to his demise.
I guess we had to expect some controversial decisions. Its not like anything was working for this team before. If they start to win games, he'll be a touted as a genius.
And if nothing changes, people will call for his head.
