AOL is raffling off a Porsche seized from a convicted spammer.
Apparently spamming works or the guy wouldn't be able to afford a Porsche in the first place. Which leads me to the question--why would you patronize someone who contributes to filling up your e-mail with tons of crap??
I must admit, I like the way AOL handled the situation. Instead of selling it and using the money to recover some of the cost of fighting spam, they're giving something back to their customers. Well, one customer anyway. But at least they have the chance.
Too bad they can't catch some of the people writing viruses and seize their assets. Then again, they probably have nothing to seize. Not much money in distributing a virus.
There probably wouldn't be much interest in winning a '79 Honda Civic.
