The Yankees are gonna be downright scary this season.
I think that players' salaries have gotten way out of whack, but if the owners are willing to pay, who can blame the players for taking it?
Is it any wonder that Major League Baseball has financial problems?
Posted by geekchik at February 16, 2004 03:16 PMI could build a better team than they did if you gave me $200 million.
My team would have no holes in it.
Posted by: James at February 16, 2004 03:27 PMI think that they will score some runs, and nothing will get through the left side of the in-field, but the pitching will be suspect at best!!!!
Posted by: Xan at February 16, 2004 04:21 PMWell don't forget they still have this starting rotation...
Kevin Brown, Mike Mussina, and Javier Vazquez (who in my opinion is one of the best starters in the league).
Still hate them, but I hate the Red Sox more so I guess I'm happy.
As for scoring runs, I'm not sure that will be the case. Soriano has more "road homers", scored more runs than A-Rod and had a higher batting average. Its not like they gave up Spivey for him.
Posted by: James at February 16, 2004 08:04 PMTrue, they do have some pitching, and possibly the best closer in the game, but can Kevin Brown stay healthy? Also, they will probably have the most dangerous line-ups 2-6 in the league and then the 7 or 8 hitter was 3rd in MVP voting that being Posada. I have little doubt they will win 110 to 120 games, but I would much rather have Pedro and Schilling pitching in a short series. I still hate the Yankees, but I can't HATE the Sox any longer because of Schilling.
